Akoo is a senior executive and leader with over 30 years of experience in leading organizations, operations, metallurgy, mineral processing, mining, capital projects, EPC/EPCM services, advisory consulting, IE, IESC, ESG, business turn around, and construction including construction management.

He is currently founder and owner of Summo Gradu Mines Corp. a start-up mining company looking to acquire and operate small late stage projects or companies, and CEO and Managing Director of Humilis Pensar Associates Inc., a technical mining advisory business.

Akoo has a broad and deep technical background. He has experience as a President and General Manager with P&L responsibility. He understands governance and he is driven to focus on quality, compliance, ESG, integrity, and business growth.

Prior to his current roles, he was the President of RPM Global Americas Inc., a publicly traded mining advisory business which performed studies including regulatory studies such as NI 43-101, SK-1300, and JORC guidelines. RPM Global was performing: due diligence, technical independent engineering, independent environmental and social consulting, and reporting for various lenders and mining companies with respect to M&A, and mining project financing.

Before joining RPMGlobal, Akoo held the position of Vice President of Metallurgy for RPA Inc. (Roscoe Postle Associates), and prior to that he was part of the Senior Corporate team at Kinross Gold Corp.. Akoo has worked and managed small capex to multi-billion dollar projects with EPCM companies such as SNC-Lavalin and Amec (now Wood PLC). He has worked for Junior, Mid-Tier, and Major mining companies.

He has led large groups (over 1500 people), and organizations. Akoo has demonstrated operational, project, and advisory experience on 4 continents. He has lived and worked in North America, South America, and Africa. He is seasoned at operations leadership, project and construction management, strategic planning, organizational growth, metallurgy and mineral processing. Akoo is innovative and has been advising and participating at the “C” suite and Directoral (Board) level for the last 7 years.

Akoo is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario, and a Member of Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). He has served on the Board of the National Mining Association and as a Director for private mining companies.
